YAXHA CANOPY - ONE DAY TOUR>>>
TOUR DESCRIPTION: Early in the morning, departure in modern tourism buses, from your hotel in Santa Elena or Flores Peten, for a 60 minute ride to the enchanting Archeological site of Yaxha, guided visit of the site.
The name Yaxhá means “green water” refering most surely to the unparalleled Yaxhá Lagoon. The site is made up of several plazas and three Maya causeways which connect them. From several pyramids in Yaxhá it is posible to see the lagoon with its two islands. Yaxhá site accounts more than 200 archeologican structures, most of them still uncovered. This site was recently chosen as the perfect setting for the 2005 CBS TV Reality Show “Survivor”. Lunch at the eco-camping site “El Sombrero”. A short 20 min. transfer will take us to the “Monkey Route” Canopy trail. There we will have the chance to zip through the jungle on more than 12 pulleys mounted on horizontal traverse cables, for an eagle’s eye view of the thick forest below. Transfer back to your hotel.
