TOUR DESCRIPTION: Early in the morning, departure in modern tourism buses, from your hotel in Santa Elena or Flores Peten, for a two hour ride to the Archeological site of Uaxactún, guided visit of the site. Just 16 miles north of Tikal, this City is believed to be the place where the Maya culture was consolidated and where the writing system was perfected. Famous for it’s observatory, the Maya calendar is believed to have started in this astronomical center. Lunch at the Park. In the late afternoon, transfer back to your hotel in the Santa Elena/Flores area.
