TOUR DESCRIPTION:
DAY
1. Early in the morning,
departure from La Aurora International
Airport in Guatemala City to Peten.
A 30 minute flight will take us to
Santa Elena. Meet at the Airport,
and transfer to the fascinating Tikal
National Park, for a guided visit.
We will visit the Temples I, II, III.
Temple IV with it’s 230 ft/70mts.
Of height is one of the biggest man
made structures in the Mayan World
even for today’s modern Guatemala
City. We will also visit the Q,N,R
complexes, and the central and north
Acropolis. Tikal boasts more than
300 structures and is regarded as
the most excavated Mayan Site to date.
Lunch at the Park. In the late afternoon,
transfer to your hotel in Santa Elena
or Flores Island area. Lodging.
DAY 2. Breakfast.
We will Start our day taking a short
trip to the caves of Actun Can where
we will see the stalactite and stalagmite
formations that date thousands of
years. After this short visit we will
continue our journey to Lake Peten
Itza shore to take a boat that will
take us on a panoramic trip of the
Lake to Petencito Zoo which will give
you the opportunity to see wild animals
which may be hard to spot in the forests,
such as jaguars, birds and baboons.
After this visit we will continue
our trip to the archeological site
of Tayasal, where after a short walk
we’ll be at the top of “Mirador
Del Rey Canek” or “King
Canek’s Viewpoint”. From
this spot one may see the whole lake,
including the Island of Flores. Lunch.
After the visit we’ll head back
to your hotel to pick up your luggage
and take you to the airport to take
your flight back to Guatemala City
or your place of origin.
