CEIBAL & AGUATECA TWO DAYS TOUR>>>
TOUR DESCRIPTION: DAY 1. Early in the morning, departure in modern tourism buses, from your hotel in Santa Elena or Flores Peten, for a 60 minute ride to the town of Sayaxché where we will board a boat that will take us through the La Pasión River to the Mayan city of Ceibal, named after the Maya sacred tree “Ceiba”. Ceibal is filled with fascinating temples and well preserved stelae carved in stone. This place has often been called “the Mayan Art Gallery”, due to it’s extensive amount of stone sculptures. Lunch. In the afternoon we will board the boat again to take the ride to Sayaxché, and we will continue navigating in the Petexbatún Creek to the Hotel. Dinner and Lodging.
DAY 2. Breakfast. We will board the boat again, and continue our journey in a river surrounded by picturesque forest filled with great variety of flora and fauna. Afterwards, we will start our walk through the jungle, climbing the geologic fault that will take us to Aguateca. Lunch at the site. Transfer to Sayaxché where we will board our bus that will take us to Santa Elena or Flores Island.
TOUR INCLUDES: Transfer Flores-Sayaxché-Flores, boat transfer to Ceibal and Aguateca, entrance fees, guides, one night accomodations in double room at The Chimino’s Island Hotel, breakfast and dinner at the hotel, box lunch, taxes.
